I keep getting docs that use English (U.S.). On my computer, Word’s default is English (Australian), and ‘Detect language automatically’ is turned off. But still I find docs that use (U.S.). Is there any way of completely removing English (U.S.) from the computer?

      Hi Peter,

AFAIK, Word uses the US English dictionary as the base for all the English-language dictionaries, which would preclude removal of the US English dictionary in this case. In any event, removing the US English dictionary wouldn’t stop Word from recognising a language attribute in a document someone sends you as being ‘US English’.

      Cheers,
