Sometimes when a Windows XP dialog box comes up, a drop down box may suddenly start coming down and up all on its own. This makes it impossible to change the file name in a Save As box for instance.

When I tried to take a picture of it with Printkey desktop program it stopped doing it. Wonder what causes it? It also may do it in the Address Box of an Explorer Folder File list window.

Use a camera to take a picture of the screen. In this way, you won’t have to hit any keys to get a print of the screen.

I figured it might be the mouse, but clicking and moving did not help. It would not even let me highlight the text in the drop down list entry area.

In the [HKEY_CURRENT_USERControl PanelMouse] key you should set these:

      MouseHoverTime : REG_SZ : hover time in milliseconds : 400 default
      MouseHoverWidth : REG_SZ : hover width in pixels * 2 : 4 default (2 pixels)
      MouseHoverHeight : REG_SZ : hover height in pixels * 2 : 4 default (2 pixels)

I don’t have any Hover settings in the Registry. I’m using a Logitech mouse and wireless keyboard with a Unifying receiver in the USB. It also has Setpoint.

Mr Phelps, I could make a short movie…
