Yesterday, 1/26/24, the wireless mouse on both my husbands and my mothers Chromebooks were no longer recognized when turning them on. Neither of them leave their Chromebooks turned on all the time – when they’re done using them they shut them down. Both of them are on stable channel and the version showing is 120.0.6099.259. I also have a Chromebook, but my version is 120.0.6099.235 and I am not experiencing any problems with my mouse. When I try to see if an update is available for my husbands Chromebook it says its “up to date”. Any idea what the problem might be? I don’t think its a coincidence that they both experienced this problem on the same day! I tried a new mouse on both laptops and it didn’t work either! So – it’s not the mouse thats the problem.

GuestJanuary 31, 2024 at 6:32 am #2633044Hello. It seems the make of your Chromebook has to do with the current stable version. My Chromebook right now updated to 120.0.6099.272 (Official Build)
Google is holding back the updates for a reason on particular devices it seems. You can track available updates here https://cros.tech/table
[Chrome OS Updates — Search for a Device, Board, or Codename]As for the wireless mouse not working, unfortunately I don’t use one so i can’t say… Perhaps you can look, or do a search for it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/chromeos/
I occasionally read through there on new information of use.

GuestJanuary 28, 2024 at 7:34 am #2632075Yes, I’m assuming that since they both have the same version (.259) that is what is causing the problem. But, since I’ve tried to update and it says they have the latest version – I’m kind of stumped since my Chromebook is on version .235. Do the new version numbers go up, or go down? Yes, tried the new mouse in all USB ports to no avail. Have ordered a bluetooth mouse to see if that will work properly.
