    hi everyone,
i uploaded a website about 18 months ago and it was working fine all the links worked first click, i checked it recently and found that the swf links i embeded have to be double clicked to activate them, can anyone tell me why, and how to rectify the problem.
i created the website using powerpoint http://www.bartonbuilding.com thanks in advance,

      Sadly its “normal”
      QUOTE
“Well, much to every web designer’s chagrin, not to mention the poor web surfers who will have to click on everything in a site to make it work, Microsoft has updated their IE browser to include an extremely annoying pop-up for every Flash item and every ActiveX control (such as music players) asking the user to “click here to activate this control.” The user then has to click it once to activate it and then a second time to get it to do the action (i.e. go to a page if it is a link). Music controls are worse as they pop up actual warning boxes asking “click to run ActiveX control on this webpage” FOR EVERY INSTANCE of a music player.

It also puts a border around all flash objects. If a designer has a Flash piece “weaved” into a design, this new border shows the surfer exactly where the flash borders are – it’s not a very nice feature for designers. Yikes, this is a BUMMER.

This nightmare is apparently due to some lawsuit Microsoft is involved in (so I’ve read on the net). There are “fixes” posted on the net that entail adding javascript work-arounds to EVERY web page in a site. I am still looking into the effectiveness of these “fixes.””
