I remember being able to do a System Restore shortcut icon with XP. I recently bought a new computer with Windows 7. I want to be able to create a desktop icon that will set a Restore Point when I click it. I googled the query and tried a number of suggestions (most involving a .vbs script) but I keep getting invalid character errors.

    Any suggestions?

      Good morning Ted.

Why be so complicated ? No download required to do this shortcut to Restore.

Go to Start and do not use the Restore there if it shows. Go to Accessories -> System Tools -> Restore, here , do a right click on it and send to Desktop, it will ask you if you want to make a Shortcut, acquiesce to this and voilà !

I need simple ways to do things on my machine. JP.
