Past the week, I noticed that the computer seemed to unable to reach the internet in spite that wifi still work (yellow triangle).  I located the problem and it was the Teredo Tunneling device.  The thing is that when I reboot, it works fine for a day and half before it ceased functioning with the code 10.

So, I went to the device manager and troubleshoot it.  It suggested I reinstall the driver. I was wary of doing that right way, afraid of fouling it up.  I went on online, looking for the solutions. I found this site, https://www.wintips.org/teredo-tunneling-device-cannot-start-code-10-fix/ , is it any good in your opinion? I am also considering looking on the computer, seeing if there is a system restore (hopefully recent such as a couple of week ago).

What is your advice on this issue? Should I try to find the system restore first? Or should I just do what the troubleshoot say I should? Or follow what the site say? Or any other solution you have for me, preferable simple one?

    Thank you 🙂

You didn’t mention which version of Windows you are running.
Is this on Win7, as the article suggests?

The WinTips article looks fine. Make sure you have a backup / set a restore point before doing anything.

Thank you for your response 🙂

So, you are saying that it does not make any real difference as which of three potential solutions I could utilize? Trying a system restore, or letting the troubleshoot program does it own things (it says it will reinstall the driver, so I assume there is an original driver install package on the computer), or doing what the site says?

      Have a great day! 😀

Whatever method fixes your problem is the correct answer.
Doing a backup beforehand is always the first step.

      System restore works!

For anyone in the future who is seeking for a solution for this problem.  Here is how you should do the system restore with Teredo Tunneling problem.  You go into the safe mode and press the start button.  Type in system restore.  Follow the direction.  When it asks you the restoration point (assuming you only has automatic system restore date), select the week before you encounter the problem (preferable at least 3 days before). Do it.  Don’t forgot to back up some of your data just in case.

If you need any other possible solution, I have it posted earlier in this thread. I hope this would be helpful for you.  By the way the reason I am posting this in the general Windows forum was because apparently this problem happen in all of the version of Windows.

      Good luck!

My Win7U-ESU desktop has had the “Teredo Tunneling Adapter” glitch on a number of occasions over the past 5-6 years, and the Wintips article was such a straightforward (and valid) fix that fully resolved it.  The 2nd time the yellow icon appeared in Device Manager, I printed the article for reference — have had to execute its steps several more times since then.  Rather than simply go back to an earlier restore point each time, I prefer to use that Wintips approach between full system backups.
