The Clean talk plug in blocks bogus email addresses.

Thank you for your reply. 🙂

I didn’t post any email address.  I did had an address to a thread on this site and gave a web address. I was asking question about Brave and how to install it on Linux. I was comparing two different instructions. That web address was to Brave’s note on how to install brave on linux. Could that be the reason for the block?

Hello 🙂 I must admit to be a bit shy and I don’t feel like I post on this site enough to be a member. Maybe once a month if that much. I mostly just look up advices and tech news but not really posting.

Thank you for your kindness! 🙂

This forum has many members who rarely post, and yet just like you, occasionally visit this forum for news and advice. The nice thing about registering is that when you occasionally do have a question or if you need to ask for advice about any sudden computer issues, then you won’t have to deal with the (awaiting moderation) flags in which your posts remain hidden to everyone, until reviewed by the forum moderators.

Please consider joining this wonderful forum. We truly would love to have you here.

I’ve sometimes had a problem getting an entry actually to be posted when there is an included link. I don’t know what the filtering rationale are that trigger a rejection.

So you may try a posting again, but break up a link into pieces: insert spaces, for instance. Human readers easily can reconstruct the string if necessary.

Switch to text mode to see if the link appears to be properly formatted, before posting. I too have had this issue in the past.

Finally my post got through! 😀 It is a bit awkward as I could not include instructions (which I copied and paste) for some reason, even if it was not email address? However I could link to a thread on this thread even if I did not link directly to the Brave’s site in case? I am confused.

Still, yay! 😀 Thank you for your help!

As GoneToPlaid notes just above, it is recommended always to create your post material in the ‘Text’ mode; this ensures that any embedded control characters (e.g., HTML, but others exist) are visible to you and can be removed. Then click on ‘Visual’ to see (about) how the post will appear. ‘About’ because line breaks are not consistent. Then switching back to Text mode will show any BBCodes that have been inserted by the editor; these are OK and may be left alone.

      Thank you very much! 😀

I just wanted to give you a head up based on what I had discovered in case anyone else has the same problem in future.  I think I found out why I got blocked in spite of the fact that I made no link or anything.

Here is a post that gave a good hint of what happened as I tried to seperate spacing between words as much as I could. Basically I added nothing, no code or anything but somehow https get underlined as if it is trying to connect with the rest of instruction.  So, I tried again with this cleaned post. I actually originally only put in something like two or three space after https and I got blocked.  So I put space between https and the rest of instructions further apart and it got through.

It looks like the site reads it as address/trying to establish a link and more zealous in checking it than the one from old post which seemed to allow it at the time.

So in the other words, if you have https at any points (especially if it is not an existing link), make sure it is seperate by at least 5 space from the rest of phrase.

I hope this helps you 😀
