OK I know this was not available in 1997/2000/2003 versions, but in 2007, is there a vertical alignment facility for text boxes in reports?

Please ignore, this is for Word, not for Access

      Click in the text box.
Activate the Format tab on the ribbon.
The Text section contains a button “Text Direction”.
Clicking this button cycles between the three possible text orientations.

      (In Word 2003, it’s Format | Text Direction…)

My mistake; I should have made that clearer. I didn’t mean the direction text goes, but where (vertically) the text will be in a text box that is larger than is necessary.

Sort of like in tables in Word, the text can be aligned, left, right, mid, up, down, centre.

      Hope that makes sense.

My mistake, actually – I didn’t read your question carefully enough.

        – Right-click the border of the text box.
        – Select “Format Text Box” from the popup menu.
        – Activate the Text Box tab.
        – Select the option that you want under Vertical alignment.

I think this answer applies to a Word text box, not an Access text box.

In Access reports text boxes have a Vertical property which can be yes/no. Once this is set to Yes, then the left/centre/right alignment options on the Design tab act as top/middle/bottom.

OK, I’ve managed part way (Using the Vertical property), but that leaves the the text direction in the vertical!

So I tried the 2 things you suggested Hans, but I couldn’t find either (can in Word of course, but not Access).

Still not given up though, except for the the help function.

BTW, is there a help for help??????

I apologize, I was trying to answer questions in the Lounge while doing a lot of other things, so I messed up and replied as if the question was about Word instead of Access.
