Is there a way to search for text that’s in a text box in a MS Word 2003 doc?!

The Edit Find function does not search inside text boxes. Is there any way to make it include them?

    Thanks very much!

(Incidentally, the discussion of callouts from long ago on this forum (2002) does not address this.)

No. Text boxes are in the drawing layer and cannot be searched. If Frames can do the job, they are searchable.

You must have some settings that are different, because I can certainly use “Find and Replace” with text boxes in Word 2003 (SP3).

I presume you’re not trying to do this while in “Normal View” or “Outline View” – because that won’t work.
