    Hello,

I am trying to design some buttons using text boxes. The problem I am having is centering the text up and down. Each button will have either one or two lines of text. I obviously want each button to be the same size. I tried to use paragraph spacing before and after to set this, but it is not working the way I thought it would. Any suggestions?

    TIA,
    Laura

Try right-clicking the text box, then choosing “format text box” from the pop-up. Under the “text box” tab, you can set the internal margins of the text box (in your case, you’ll want to work with the top and bottom margins to center your text vertically).

However, I’m not sure that using text boxes is the best way for you to create “buttons.” Perhaps someone else can supply a better solution for you.

Thanks for the suggestions. Actually, I was trying to make the buttons hyperlinks. I ended up changing the size of the buttons so I could fit everything on one line. Then I realized that text boxes don’t convert to HTML. Do-oh! I used to know that but had forgotten. So I’m trying something else.

It’s still something that is a peeve. I’ve noticed that when you type a word in a text box and then select the word, the selection box goes way below the word. That, I think, is the problem.
