I have a form that’s attached to an email and the data is coming from Access 97. The field in question consists of a 255 characters; when it merges onto the form, only 126 characters show. I can’t see anywhere where I’m limiting the word document to 126 characters so I’m wondering if either a)I’m just looking in the wrong place (I didn’t design this form, I’m only trying to manipulate it) or b)there is a limit on the docproperty field.

    Any suggestions? please

Can you describe the path that the data is taking from Access to the document? A Document Property can hold more than 128 characters in Word 2002; not sure about Word 97. You should be able to determine whether your entire Access string is in there from looking at the property in File>Properties>Custom. I’m not sure where the merge is coming in, however.

I played around some more with the code in a desperate attempt to not have to change the word template, but the 128 character barrier was impossible to overcome. So what I did was set up two merge fields next to each other – one reports the first 125 characters and the second reports the last 125 characters, for a total of 250 (which corresponds to the space limit on the form). Now to change the other two fields where the users want to continue their verbose ways….

I can’t wait until we at least upgrade to 2K around here – Office 97 is starting to get to me. Never run with scissors!
