I received the same. Interestingly, even something as benign as the junk mail filter update is unchecked as of this morning.

It is available now. Which means that it is unlikely to be pulled like the last months Windows 8.1/2012 R2 Optional patch which did not have an associated KB article at all.

I should’ve been more explicit. The KB article is there, but it says absolutely nothing about the update. Zip. Did I miss something?

Sorry for misunderstanding. Nothing missed, unless going through the process of finding out what this file does Policytips.dll or Microsoft.office.policytips.dll
I think Microsoft should be more specific with this information before drawing further conclusions.

W7 Home Premium SP1, Office 2010.

Yes, it looks like this round of updates contains Outlook 2007 Junk Mail Filter and the Definition Updates for Office 2010, 2013 and 2016 – same thing under a different name for different versions.
Are they Critical (functional) Updates or Security Updates? I would say they are more like Security Updates.

They’re “security” updates in the sense that everybody should install them. I’ve never seen Junk Mail Filter or Definition Updates break anything.

Yes, absolutely. Hold off unless you’re being bit by a specific bug – font lists in PDF files, for example.

Woody, have you considered whether you’re going to bring forward Defcon 2 a week now that the Office updates are coming early? I know they’re non-security and therefore ought to be considered largely optional anyway, but at the moment you’re reporting the release of some updates while showing Defon 3 which might lead some to install them straightaway.Just a thought.
