With the official launch of Copilot+ PCs, Microsoft has also unleashed Windows 11 24H2. This most recent update to Windows 11 has been a long time in the works, and there have been numerous preview builds available.

What is interesting is the way in which this launch is taking place. Copilot+ PC are now available with Windows 11 24H2 pre-installed, and it is also available to Insiders. The fact that systems have this version of the operating system installed means that development is complete (well, as complete as such work ever is), but the launch is dividing the Windows userbase into haves and have-nots — in more ways than one…

I’m looking to replace my 6 year old Dell Inspiron and have looked at the new line of Copilot+ PCs with Snapdragon processors (and 24H2) offered by Dell.
Is this the time to consider buying one? Or should I stick with Intel’s Core Ultra series.
I plan to keep the laptop for 5 to 6 years.

If it were me, I’d hold off until 24H2 is officially released. Let the Beta testers give it a whirl for a while. We’ll get the reports here if there are any glitches. There may be h/w AND s/w changes before this fall.

Gaming performance has lagged through the years with various Windows releases and hardware releases. It will improve but it will take some time.
