      I appreciate the free sub, even when I don’t understand the article…happy to know that I can reference it later, again.

      Hi Woody,

      I have never seen an “all clear” from you for the following .NET patches that Microsoft released last June: KB982168, KB979906, KB979909, KB98252; also KB983583, which was released in August. For what it’s worth Secunia’s online scanner doesn’t flag these as security patches holes.

      Do you have a Defcon designation now for these? I’m a fanatic about avoiding early and unnecessary patches, so I greatly appreciate your website.

      Many thanks.

      @Marty

      I finally threw in the towel on those a few months ago, when I gave a blanket MS-DEFCON OK. It now looks like MS has fixed all the outstanding problems on the October patches. I’ll give it one more look here in the next 24 hours, and likely give the go-ahead on all patches, including the lousy .NET ones. Hang on.
