To upgrade to 23h2 or not to upgrade to 23h2 that is the question

Figured I would ask on here. Currently running a gaming laptop with windows 11 22h2. I have checked the requirements for 23h2 and my laptop checks all the boxes. But what bothers me is the reports I keep seeing about 23h2 affecting games like lag, framerate, and general performance. Am I better off just sticking to 22h2 or go ahead and upgrade to 23h2? Also, will windows 12 from what anyone knows about it require 22h2 or 23h2?

Also, sorry for the Shakespearean reference, couldn’t resist.

I can’t speak for the gaming, but Win11 22H2 hits EOL in October 2024. That’s four (4) months away. After that, you won’t get (free) updates from Microsoft.

That’s strange cause I thought it didn’t hit the end till october 2025

Forget my earlier post about 2025, turns out that was for enterprise and higher editions, not home edition.

One other question, if going to 23h2 via enablement package, having never used an ‘enablement package’, is it like a normal windows update session where it’ll download and install then ask you to restart?

Okay, just ran the enablement package, and noticed two things, it was way faster than I thought it would be, and not seeing much difference.
