    Hi ,

I am trying to create a button in a toolbar to exit MS Excel completely and not return back to MS Access
as the spreadsheet is called from within MS Access.

Is there a way of doing this?

    Justin.

You could copy the File | Exit menu item to the toolbar: select Tools | Customize…, activate the Commands tab, select File in the Categories list, then drag Exit from the Commands list to the toolbar. You can change the way the item is displayed by right-clicking it.

I don’t understand, though, what you mean by “exit MS Excel completely and not return back to MS Access”. Why the “not”?

This is what l tried but it simply returned you back to the Access screen.

The reason l say ‘not’ is that the user has finished user the program therefore there is no need to have it open.

You wrote that the Excel workbook is opened from Access. If the user won’t need to return to Access, you should exit Access after opening the Excel workbook. I don’t know how you open the workbook, but if you use VBA code in Access, you can use Application.Quit to exit Access.
