I use Outlook 2007 only for the calendar and contacts. I rely heavily on the calendar. Is there some way I can import that calendar to my Galaxy S4. I only have GMail accounts although I do have a honeypot account at hotmail. I tried making a hotmail calendar for the honeypot account and then copying my other one into that but it won’t put one folder into another (like d’uh). Since I have yearly recurring appointments (birthdays, etc.), and schedule almost my whole life on that calendar (I haven’t forgot to take any meds since I have even them on the calendar and the reminder pop-up bugs me :)) So I have tons and tons of things in this calendar and want it on my S4. I imported it into the Google calendar but the Google calendar will not let me delete anything. I have asked on the Google forums multiple times, etc. and nothing. So I just deleted the whole Google calendar because one mistake, change of appointment, etc. and I was in trouble. Can anyone help me.

AskWoody LoungerJanuary 28, 2014 at 9:30 am #1436140Chosita,
I use a free product from CodeTwo called “CodeTwo Sync for iCloud” which transfers the contents of my Outlook 2010 calendar to my iCloud calendar. Their URL is http://www.codetwo.com/sync-for-icloud/ From there, I attach my iPhone (I have an iPhone 5 with iOS 7) to my iCloud calendar. To the best of my knowledge, this CodeTwo product is the only product that offers this capability.
P.S. You’ll need to install Apple’s iCloud Control Panel for Windows, if you haven’t already, in order for this to work.

AskWoody LoungerJanuary 28, 2014 at 11:18 am #1436156Syncing Outlook with Android has many pitfalls. After using several generations of Windows Phone, the quality of syncing with Android is just not the same – and I was not going to place my calendar on Google. I have tried most of what is available to sync my Samsung Galaxy S3 with Outlook 2010; here is my experience.
Kies is just dreadful. Samsung say that they have improved it since I tried it over a year ago. I could only recover with cold resets. There are still sufficient negative posts that I would not try it again.
CompanionLink was OK, just, but I did not pursue it.
MyPhoneExplorer did all sorts of things to my computer, hijacked my homepage, changed my default browser. Oh, no, never again.
SyncRoid stripped my categories, stripped out titles (Mr., Mrs., etc.), and I had to re-enter most of my contacts. Never again.I finished up with Android-Sync. I don’t think that it is brilliant, works only over USB, not by Bluetooth, but it is the best of a rather flawed collection.
I would go back to Windows Phone were it not for the variety of Android apps that are not available in WinPhone.

AskWoody PlusJanuary 23, 2014 at 2:09 pm #1435344Try Samsung Kies.
Beware of Kies and Outlook Tasks. I use Outlook 2003 and Kies 2.6.
It transfers tasks from Outlook to the phone via Kies fine. But then it resyncs the tasks back to Outlook, truncating the Outlook text back to the first new-line (I think). Weirdly, the text on the phone remains at its original length. Not nice if you’ve written a lot of text. Not the topic at issue, I know, but be wary…

AskWoody LoungerJanuary 23, 2014 at 3:12 pm #1435350Thanks for the warning about Kies and Outlook Tasks.
To be clear, I also use Outlook 2003 and MyPhoneExplorer works flawlessly. I’m running Win 8.1 and MyPhoneExplorer syncs my Outlook calendar with Google and my Android, as well as Tasks, Contacts, etc. and offers lots of selectivity options. It’s the best I’ve seen, though I am far from a techie, and it’s freeware. What could be better?

Hey Star Lounger: Had the same problem last year and found the greatest sync tool ever called ‘MyPhoneExplorer’. Check it out. It is free, quick and syncs flawlessly. I was so happy with it I sent a nice donation….which is the only support they get.
I’m certain this will solve your problem perfectly.

AskWoody PlusJanuary 23, 2014 at 12:06 pm #1435314I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 and use an app called local sync to sync outlook calendar, contacts, notes, tasks etc. It consist of an app that installs on the phone plus a matching program to install on your PC and has worked great for me. Nothing is going to the web, just back and forth between your phone and PC.

AskWoody LoungerJanuary 23, 2014 at 1:06 pm #1435327Same for MyPhoneExplorer. What I like most when syncing calendars is how it offers the option to add new appts. to either Outlook or your cellphone while also offering the option to remove any or all past appts. from either, selectively. You also have the option to sync tasks and contacts, all separately, seemingly in milliseconds. It syncs through direct USB connection, or wirelessly by either Bluetooth or network connection (that’s how I use it). I think it’s awesome. Glad you’ve found a program you like to solve our mutual problem. I’ll look at your link and consider it, but I am VERY happy as is. Thanks for the reply.
