UDF in C (Excel 2000 VBA )

XL Xtreme question: I’m looking for some information on writing Excel UDFs in C. I know it’s possible, but there’s very little information around on the net (or elsewhere!).
Does anyone here have any experience with this? A sample UDF doing a simple calc would be great. I want to do this for performance reasons, so if anyone has any other UDF performance tips that would also be appreciated.
(I’m a strong XL/VBA and C programmer)

I hope you’ll get an answer, but don’t hold your breath. C is rather far from the focus of the Lounge.

If you’re aiming at Excel 2003, you might consider writing in .NET and using the Visual Studio Tools for Office.

Hi,
Have you looked at KB178474 for example? It relates to C++ but I guess the principle is the same. Note that you need some header and library files in order to create the xll.
