Bleeping Computer has an outage map, looks like Europe and Northeast US down a lot:

Right now the downdetector.com map looks like Japan and Australia might be having it worst…

It might be wise to download and install one of the free off-line office packages. If possible, download your personal files so you have access to them while Microsoft 365 is down.

Apropos of this, current versions of Rclone can pull Sharepoint libraries through the OneDrive for Business interface. (And push too, but no 2-way sync algorithm so far.)

The configuration is nowhere near end-user ready, though. Still, an admin with the appropriate skills who sets up a recurring job…

You’re describing solutions to a problem that doesn’t exist.

The Office 365 applications all work 100% fine if there is no Internet connection, or if Microsoft’s services are failing.  Chances are also extremely good that the files you’re working on are already synced to your local machine via OneDrive.

You might have a problem if you’re relying on the web versions of Office…. yeah, maybe don’t do that.  (Hey, at least with Microsoft, you can install Office locally…. no such luck with Google Docs, etc.)

Note that this also affect Visual Studio 2017 (including the free and paid editions) which crashes and fails to authenticate a conenction on startup after any fresh install, on any Windows 10 platform.

We’ve not had any problems logging on to Office 365 and using Outlook Web Access – except for today, all day, when trying to access our calendars gives:
