You may have already done this too, Tim, but I looked at Pacs-Portal and Answers That Work and just a plain ol’ Google and I can’t find anything either. One thing fer sure, it isn’t on MY WinME machine. What about a Properties view – no clues there either, huh? Or even a clue based on which directory it’s in, although I suspect you’ll say it’s in the Windows directory, which obviously doesn’t help. Got any software or hardware on the PC that starts its name with the letter “O,” besides Office? (just kidding, that’s pretty far fetched!)

Got anything like this on your computer, Tim? (I’m really stretching, I know)

Big Al, the file is located in the C:windowssystem directory. The type of file is “unknown” It is 23k in size.
I guess if we don’t find out what it is, I will move it to my “unknown stuff” folder and mark it hidden. That way, when something don’t work right, I go to that folder and retrieve the file. When they get too old, I throw them away (after a year or so).
        Thanks for checking anyway.

I checked for that also…not in my WinME C:windows/system at all. Wish things weren’t so ‘non-descript’…they should all list what that particular vxd or .dll (etc) is used by (program and/or device) !

      Hi Tim

Is your computer, or has it been, on a network?
Some internet searching has turn up some emulation software software by Attachmate called InfoconnectPEP/OTS or InfoconnectPEP 2001.
The only connection I can make is the “OTS”……a loooonnngggg shot!!

Also a long shot but it may help:

      OTS (a JAVA term):
An acronym for Object Transaction Service (OTS)

Ken, well my computer is only on a local network here in the house. Never been on anything else unless I didn’t know about it. Tried that dumb Kazaa once and took it off. I am on Comcast cable but I would hope it is not anything with them.
Maybe I win the “prize” for having a program that no-one can identify ? I will give it a few more days to see if someone can come up with the answer then I guess I will turn it off and park it somewhere.
        Thanks,

Tim, since VXDs are kernel-level device drivers (usually) it may well be related to hardware installed on your computer. Can you provide a listing of installed hardware devices? By going to Start – Run and typing MSINFO32 you should be able to get a decent listing.
