AskWoody_MVPJune 27, 2017 at 4:13 pm #122317Thank you for the update. Unfortunately Microsoft does not have a solution for Outlook and is only trying to buy more time until they can come up with something better.
The fact is that regardless of the Outlook patch, I consider that Windows needs to be patched with priority up to and including the June 2017 Monthly Security Rollup for each OS. There may be an inconvenience of Windows Search working inconsistently in Outlook, which I find preferable to having personal files encrypted subject to ransomware.4 users thanked author for this post.

ManagerJune 28, 2017 at 7:46 pm #122568If you are not using Outlook, then you are not affected by Outlook problems.
However, if you have MS Office installed on your computer, you should be patching it for security reasons. And if it includes Outlook (even if you are not using it) you should include the Outlook patches for security reasons as well.
