Forever through this morning., my personal website worked perfectly in Firefox, Sagfari and Edge. after either todays .NET and Cumulative Windows 10 updates OR an Edge update that snuck in, SOME of the images are enlarged 200,300,400 %. Not all. And I have not seen the same on other web sites but have not looked extensively. It is not a page zoom, just several images. For example, this is accurate:

    1-1

    This is after today’s updates.

    2

There are several other similar on my site. But ONLY in Edge and only since later today.

Any ideas? I would be surprised if only my site, but cannot yet find another.

    Thanks.

OK, here is a big clue. Again started just yesterday! But notice how Edge is “rendering” the image at more than 3 times size. And even the increase is odd at not an even three times…

Helpful to figure out what is going on?

Having problems with the image. Back when I correct them.

      1-render

Just had a friend check. Looks fine in Firefox and Duck Duck Go for her, but “bloated” in Edge AND Chrome (I do not have Chrome). And just to emphasize, this started yesterday with Win CU Update and .NET updates. Maybe that is a clue.

I tired viewing your site and the image also displays too large in Edge, Chrome & Opera (all Chromium based.)

I selected the inspect element option for the image and, via a bit of “manual editing” of the values it displayed, discovered the problem.

      <img tag class="alignleft size-full wp-image-101"

When I removed the size-full part of the class statement, the image displays at normal size like it should in all those browsers.

      CorrectImageSize

I also made the same manual edit in my SeaMonkey browser (a FireFox derivative) and it had no effect on how the image displays.

Suggest you either remove size-full or figure out exactly what part of it is now causing the image to display too large.

BTW, I can verify it’s not an Edge, Chrome or Opera update that caused this as I haven’t updated any of those since March 3.

Off topic but, I still use a Logitech Harmony 520 Universal Remote so thanks for your efforts. 👍

        You are a gem! Thanks.

I now have a place to look.

Harmony is discontinuing support for their remotes! May 28th last day to update.

        Google “harmony remotes discontinued support”

        • #2766729

They actually discontinued support for the 520 quite some time ago (get an error if I check for updates) but, at least so far, their Harmony Remote S/W still works to make changes to it’s settings.

That software stops May 28th! Do google. And check the support end dates.

            Let me see:

            1hr

@n0ads – had that issue on 4 pages. All fixed now. Chrome must have made a change as it affected my site in all chrome based browsers. I might have never found that. Thanks so much!!

Hopefully this mention will help some do a final update before obsoletion.

OK, to put a bow on this original question, CHROME made changes that broke display of some images on my website that have not changed in ANY way in a very long time. Edge, Chrome – any chrome based browser had the image while Firefox and Duck Duck Go did not.

n0ads put me on the right track finding the cause of the issue. All good now.
