Recently noticed that Windows 10 22H2 build 2364 (December update) caused File Explorer to be sluggish when deleting files. Would delete a file and it would still show in the folder. Closing and reopening the folder did not fix the problem. Even the right click context menu on the recycle bin would not empty the bin. Had to open recycle bin to see if deleted file was there. It showed up there and in the original file folder. Had to use the opened recycle bin menu to finally get rid of file. Rolled back to build 2251 and problem disappeared. Also the address bar in build 2364 would sometimes show the green progress indicator that sometimes shows up in the address bar. Any one else have this problem?

AskWoody PlusDecember 26, 2022 at 10:13 am #2511707Hi grumpy65867:
Is there any chance your Reliability Monitor is logging the same RuntimeBroker.exe errors I described in my 23-Dec-2022 post # 2511058 of Susan Bradley’s Final Patches for 2022?
These RuntimeBroker.exe errors started on 19-Dec-2022, which is the same day I installed my Dec 2022 Patch Tuesday updates (OS Build 19045.2364) on my Win 10 Pro v22H2 OS. These errors seems to be associated with Windows Search (see attached images), and since that date I’ve noticed some of the same behaviour you’ve described (e.g., slow deletion of files, green progress bar when searching for files, files deleted from Recycle Bin that don’t appear to be deleted unless I close and re-open Recycle Bin). This type of behaviour isn’t entirely new on my system but seems to be worse since OS Build 19045.2364 was applied.
I haven’t seen one of these RuntimeBroker.exe errors since 23-Dec-2022 so I’m not doing anything for now, but if things don’t improve I might try rebuilding my entire search index (Control Panel | Indexing Options | Advanced | Index Settings tab | Troubleshooting | Delete and Rebuild Index | Rebuild) to see if that helps.
