Hello from Texas. I have a user who has WinXP Home on her home machine (we use Win2K here at the hospital). She has a Lexmark printer. I don’t know the model, but it can connect through USB. XP is giving her a message that the “printer is busy” when she tries to print, even though there are no print jobs pending. She downloaded a new driver for the printer, but it didn’t help. I checked the MS Knowledge Base and the XP Support Center, but came up empty. Anyone have a suggestion I can pass on to her? Thanks a lot.

Is connecting it via parallel an option, if for no other reason than to rule out the possibility that it’s something to do with the USB connection? She may also want to check into updated USB drivers.

Mark, thanks, I will pass that on to her to check.

By the way, I can think of maybe a hundred pithy things to say about your “picture”. Suffice that I love that movie and wish I’d thought of it first. laugh

I had a similar problem with the Lexmark and switched to an HP after repeatedly receiving this message :
