    What add-ins do you recommend?

The ones that I recommend are:

ASAP Utilities – over 300 useful and powerful utilities to fill the gaps in Excel, and automate frequently used tasks.
Name Manager – by Jan Karel Pieterse – how name management should have been.
Rob Bovey’s utilities – general purpose utilities.
Find lost passwords – one of the best password recovery tools from Erlandson Data Consulting.
FindLink – track down links in workbooks. There are other useful add-ins on this page.
J-Walk Enhanced data form – enhanced version of the built in data form.
John Walkenbach’s Power Utility Pack – not free but very good set of tools.
Ron de Bruin – a couple of useful add-ins for Google searching and sending e-mails from within Excel.

    For VBA
MZ-Tools – enhancements to make programming in VBA easier.
Rob Bovey’s code cleaner – clean up your VBA projects.
Smart Indenter – tidy up VBA code making it easier to read.

Including the ones you mention, the one you missed and that I use more than all of them is Rob Bovey’s XYChartLabeler. It allows excel to do something that the dos Lotus123 could do directly: add datalabels to a chart.

      thankyou Tony

For putting this list of add-ins in a place so easy to get to. bravo

I would also like to add my dearest Cyber-Friend Stephen Bullen’s stuff. Stephen does not know the answer to the question “Can it be done?”, his answer is always the same. Yes!!! and he will amaze you.

So, not to turn this into shrine for Stephen, here is his web site

Oh and what is that Cyber-Friend bit… cool, well its someone I have not met in real life, but only via Lounges like this one.
