I want to use two calenders to be able to select a start and an end date. With these two dates I would like to be able to open a report based on the dates.

Check out the Solutions database that ships with Access. There is a form/report set that does what you want (almost). But it uses the Calendar control once, and a couple of text boxes for the beginning data and ending date.

In the Access 97 version of Solutions, the form and report are available under “Using queries with forms and reports,” then “Use a parameterized query in an event procedure.”
