old-n,
There usually isn’t anything you have to do other than to have the main page named correctly. Some servers use index.html or .htm and others use default.htm. Check with you’re hosting service to see which standard they use.
Does any body know how to make a web site public on Filezilla once it as been up loaded
If you can see it in your browser without a password, it’s public. But if you want other people to find it, you need to get the word out. There’s a whole industry of people who will happily help you with that (not for free).
If you can’t see it in your browser, maybe there’s a problem with the folder structure, or with your domain setup. We don’t have enough information to help you with that.
Sorry I did not get back to you before, but I am spending every minute I can trying to solve this problem.
1) The requirement is html which my files are I checked the sites FAQ
2) I have loaded the site up, but I can not make it public, when I try to view in Internet Explorer I get

403 Forbidden!
The address you have entered is not open to the public,
(This may be caused by not having a index.html file in your root directory).
We advise you to visit our home page, as you could still find the page you are looking for:

The address is http://www.older-voices-forum.99k.org
I have done another site but this was on my own personal web space, I had not problems there.
The address is http://www.older-voices-forum.99k.org
The error changes from 403 to 404 if I add a page name. Test using one of your actual page names, e.g., imagine you have a page named contact-us.html:
http://www.older-voices-forum.99k.org/contact-us.html
http://older-voices-forum.99k.org/contact-us.html
Based on Zymic’s FTP help page (http://zymic.com/knowledge-base/ftp.html), it doesn’t appear that you could possibly have put the files in the wrong location, however, I can think of three possibilities:
(1) No index.html page at the top level of your account;
(2) FTP uploaded your files into a subfolder rather than the root folder;
(3) The www prefix is not supported or is not correctly mapped to older-voices-forum.99k.org.
The site works OK on my computer, I have made another site but this is on my personal web space, with out any problems. I have also made other sites but all were on their owners personal web space
I used frontpage 2000, to make both sites, the site is uploaded but if you try to view it says the site as not been made public yet
This is why I ask if anybody know anything about filezilla how do I make it public I have been through all the FAQ in the host site
Thanks for coming back to me Moderator.
I have tried all the pages like you said
http://www.older-voices-forum.99k.org/contact-us.html
I have tried
With the index.html in the site folder
With the index.html out of the site folder next to ftpquota
With all files not in folder
But non work
” or is not correctly mapped to older-voices-forum.99k.org ” what do you mean by this?
I have removed one of my sites on my personal web space and the site works?
Thanks for getting back to me Moderator
I tried
http://older-voices-forum.99k.org
http://www.older-voices-forum.99k.org
http://older-voices-forum.99k.org/index.htm
http://www.older-voices-forum.99k.org/index.htm

Sorry I have not got back to you before but I have had a problem signing in, which it seems could not be got over.
So I had the data base cleared and I signed in again.
” I think you need support from the host on whether the files are in the correct folder. ”
I have tried their forum not one seemed to knoe why and done a Print Screen of the web space and they are in the right place.
It is driving me mad
