• Using Paint Files In Presentation (97)

I am trying to put together a presentation that includes some screen shots that I pasted into Paint and saved as .BMP files. Nothing I have tried allows me to display these BMP files in PowerPoint. When I try to paste them into the clipart objects, nothing appears to happen. I have thumbed through several PowerPoint books and none of them discuss using any images other than clipart. One book did talk about importing images into the clipart database but I only want to use these images once, and there are a lot of them, so this seems to be a waste to me.

Is there an easy way to display a BMP file on a slide with say a title in PowerPoint 97?

Why not copy and past the screen shot directly into the presentation? I’ve done this many times without difficulty. Saving as a .bmp is not necessary.

      Cheers

Saving it as a BMP in Paint allows me to crop it. I’m generally discussing a smaller part of the screen and this keeps down on the clutter.

How? I cannot get that to work in PowerPoint 97.

Never mind, I feed stupid but I figured it out. Rather than pasting into a template, I just need to use INSERT, PICTURE, FROM FILE…

It works like a champ. I don’t know how I overlooked it.

Depending on your final goal, avoid BMP files as they are HUGE. A JPG file with little/no compression, GIF’s or PNG files are a better bet, generally.

(This being said without regard to versions)
