I set up my new Windows 10 Pro with a Local Account. That is what I wanted. In order to use other “things” a Microsoft Account offers (like the Microsoft store), I’ll have to set up a Microsoft Account. All the programs I installed were done through my Local Account and they were installed for the current User only. I have read that I can switch between accounts. What I have not found is, will everything in my Local Account (like my files and programs) be available if I log in using a Microsoft Account?
When I logon, I see the word “USER”, which to me is different than the term “ACCOUNT” (I have a USER ID at my bank, but my USER ID is linked to several ACCOUNTS I have). Something tells Microsoft uses the term “USER” to mean the same as “ACCOUNT”, which will probably mean files in a Local ACCOUNT are not accessible when I switch to a Microsoft ACCOUNT.
Also… if I set up a Microsoft Account, will it move everything from my Local Account to the Microsoft Account and delete the local account? (I hope not).
