    Hi,

I’m trying to update sets of templates as we have recently moved to Office 2000 from 97. One of the sets of templates creates html pages (hence using the html filter- msohtmf2.exe) but I’m having a few wee problems and hoped someone might have come across some solutions.

The first problem is that I need to be able to change the HTML title of each web page that is created. I have tried to record a macro to see how this is done – but every time I check the coding it is blank! So is there a way that I can input the html page title and then set the title on each page created from the template?

The other issue I’ve noticed is that when you save a Word doc to html it creates a folder for each page with all sorts of XML info – the HTML Filter appears to remove all the XML info from the folder, but a blank folder is being created for each web page saved. Any ideas how to stop this from happening?

    Thanks in advance!

    Lauren

Can’t help you with the first issue because I’m not familiar with the method/ filter you’re using. But with regard to the blank folder, it may be undesirable to try to get rid of it. Even without saving all the XML info, the associated folder is used to hold graphics and other objects that might be referenced by the web page. I’m guessing you’re saving only textual documents??

Yes Alan, they are primarily textual documents (apart from one wee Horizontal line – used on all the pages that will be created – therefore I only need one folder to hold this image! There will eventually be 1000s of pages created and I just can’t have all these empty folders cluttering up my directories!

I see the problem. The most obvious solution seems to be to generate the Horizontal line within the HTML, using the

          tag – something like

. I’m not sure how you’d inject this into the .DOC -> .HTML processing though. Would this prevent the generation of the unwanted folder(s), if it’s a viable method?
