The company I am currently contracting for has a package that sets the value of a variable in a HKEY_CURRENT_USER subtree. If this value is changed either through the package or REGEDIT the value reverts to the original when the user logs out and back in. They are not changing PCs, each is using their “own” PC.

This only happens for users with roaming profiles and not for any users without roaming enabled, so using the local profile.

Does anyone has an idea as to what am I missing?

Is it possible that cached copies of the roaming profiles are interfering?

Are you using GP to enforce cache copies to be deleted on logout?

Is the value you wish to set static, could you force it upon logon?
