I found this article on the MS Knowledge Base site – OFF97: How to Fill the Microsoft Visual Basic 5.0 FlexGrid Control (Q164922). Has anyone used this control in a Word userform? I am now using 2000 and can’t find the control anywhere. The article is for Office 97. When I tried using this control back in 97, I couldn’t register the control even though I followed the instructions completely. I could get the control onto my control tool box but when I tried to put it on the userform, I got a “control not registered” error. My question is : does there have to be a full version of Visual Basic 5 installed in order to make use of the control? If so, this article is a bit misleading. If anyone has had any experiences with this control and has time to share suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated. This control would be perfect for a little project I am working on. Thanks in advance.

      Mine works OK.

I did Tools, Additional Controls, and selected “Microsoft Hierarchical Flex Grid Control” which points to System32MSHFLXGD.ocx.

I’m using VB6 Enterprise edition though. I don’t know if you have a version of the control which does not allow you to use it at design time- that’s a possibility if you already had the control from an application distributed by soemone else.

Thanks Geoff. I didn’t try the hierarchical flex grid before because I thought it was different. I will see what I can do with it.
