VIewer for .php extension

I received a file from a friend that had a .php extension. This is NOT the PHP web stuff. I think it is some Microsoft Photo program. Anyway she is unable to send it to me in any other format and I was wondering if there was a viewer for this extension that anyone knows about – or if someone can translate it for me into Word or Acrobat or the like.
