Does anyone know how to view a complete error message in IE 5 SP1? When trying to load a particular page, the “application portion” of the page does not load. If I put my mouse cursor over that portion of the page, the following message appears in the status bar:

“error: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: com/ms/applet/AppletPanel.securedClassLoad Possible causes: If you are trying to use J/”

How can I view the complete message??

Try playing with these settings – right-clicking pops up a brief description:

        Disable scrip debugging is OFF
Display notification about every script error is ON
        Java console enabled is ON
        Java logging enabled is ON

The last got me to thinking, and I poked around the hard disk for a log file. I found winntjavajavalog.txt, which does have the complete error message. Unfortunately, it still doesn’t mean much to me . . .

java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: com/ms/applet/AppletPanel.securedClassLoad Possible causes: If you are trying to use J/Direct (@dll.import), check your compiler version (for JVC, requires 4336 or greater.) If you are trying to use RNI, there are new requirements: see documentation.

        at com/ms/applet/AppletPanel.run

At least I can now send the complete error message to the site developers.
