Win7 Home Premium (32 bits) is my OS.

I need XP running on a virtual machine on my system, because some of my old programs and my HP Scanjet 4400C which are not supported by both Microsoft and HP anymore.

I understand there are two free virtualization programs: VMWare Player and Virtual Box.

Can I have opinions on which one is better, and why?

    Any help is welcome.

Hak5 does a couple pretty good comparison reviews on VirtualBox vs VMWare.

        RussB, thanks for your tip.
I watched Hak5: VirtualBox seems to be the favorite.

        Cheers,

They are both free so why not try them both? I find VirtualBox to be far better and easier to use.

        Hello Doc,

        Why not?

Can I have both installed on my system?

        Thanks,

            Yes, absolutely.

            Thanks Ruy,

I have them both installed and running.
VirtualBox seems to be faster but not so user friendly as VMWare.
            Time will tell.

            Abracço,

I find the lack of drag-and-drop between host and guest in VirtualBox a real inconvenience.
