I have a copy of Visual source safe (legally) from my work. Can anyone help me as to how you finish a project and remove the hooks from source safe to give it to the client?
I hope this is the right forum.
    Thanks

I assume you have used source safe to create a database in Access. Just open Access and compact the source safe database to a new database. When prompted to remove the compacted database from VSS, tell it yes. The compacted database is the one you use to build the setup for your client, leaving the source safe project intact for any future development needs.

Note that the behavior in recent versions of Access is to compact the current database into itself if you have it open. So if you do it that way you will remove the database from VSS, and then have to recreate it the next time you want to do development work. This can really be a pain if you have the compact on close option set for your database. The procedure we developed was to simply make a copy of the database, and then compact that, relink to live tables instead of test tables, and then deploy.
