        Hi,

This is posting of when clicking on Guestbook page, as you see it is blank. Very odd as in the coding the Guestbook exists? 43485-screenshot

Both work for me, using Chrome and Firefox. With IE, top sites generates a 403 error.

No one uses frames, these days. Feels like a trip to the 1990s.

I am aware site is old, but cannot work out why Guestbook and Top sites do not work. The site is just a hobbie to show pics.

      Justin,

It would appear that the problem is with a FF extension.

I no longer have FF but I tried this in chrome and got:

Then successively I disabled ScriptBlock, uBlock Origin, and Privacy Badger finally getting:
      43490-Justin2

So I’d check your FF extensions.

This might be it. I have almost zero FF extensions – I think I use only LastPass.

        Hi,

I have resolved Guestbook problem , many thanks for your help but l cannot work out why ‘My top Sites’ link does not work? It was working a few days ago and the file is in my web space area , l am confused and very baffled as l have done nothing to the website

I get a redirect back to the Award space hosting site, as in post #7, lower image. It might be that Bravenet or wherever it is supposed to link to, is blocked by security software thus the displayed page defaults to blank page or the server host?

    • #1550520

I have removed all security software but still no luck, all the other pages work. Any help would be appreciated as l have made no changes yet get this odd error.43514-Screenshot_2

There’s no problem with your button or your link. The problem is with the underlying file you’re trying to open. 403 means that even though the file exists, the browser doesn’t have permission to read it. (If the file didn’t exist or the filename was bad, you’d get a 404 error.)

Your menu button is trying to fetch the xventures.mywebcommunity.org/mytopsites.htm file and display it in the bottom frame, but the awardspace.com server is saying the public doesn’t have permission to view that file and so is redirecting to AS’s default 403 error page. You’ll see the same problem if you try to go directly to the mytopsites.htm page, sans frames.

According to your last screenshot, the permissions look correct ( -rwxr-x ) so it would seem to be something wrong with AwardSpace’s server configuration. Perhaps they upgraded something under the bonnet and it broke something else. IAC, there’s nothing we can do to help, and my guess is it’s out of your control, as well. It looks like a problem AS’s tech support needs to fix. (I’m betting they’re the ones who broke it.)

FWIW, your myfavs.htm and my_favourites.htm files have the same problem and also return a 403 error. However, your mailing_list.htm (Dec 2015) and index_xmas.htm (Nov 2011) do not; they display properly. Your three my*.htm files are date-stamped within the last few days, so maybe something’s gone haywire with AS’s SiteBuilder editor and it’s corrupting anything you edit.
