Over the many years of home/ business computing there has always been a need for tools and utilities to make your PC run better, smarter, safer and faster no matter what version of Microsoft Windows.
    I HIGHLY recommend http://www.majorgeeks.com
This resource is an absolute must for tinkerers and enthusiasts like me.
Great walk-through’s, videos and a huge selection of links to top utilities and some hosted on their site too.

Note: I have no affiliation with majorgeeks other than being a long term fan of the website that provide daily news on new, updated utilities and software.

    Any others out there?

I have downloaded a couple of items from them when redirected there from a trust software site. My problem is I just don’t know them well enough(to promote them) and I have seen much problems at sites that I DID get to know. Let’s face it, Download Sites in general don’t the greatest reputation for awhile now….

I’ve used Majorgeeks since before they were called that 😉 I think they began ~98. I was using them by ’99 but lost track of them for a few years due to the name change.

It’s basically a 2-man show with a moderately large range of useful software, everything is vetted, share/ad/trial-ware etc. is all clearly marked as such. All software is tested to ensure safety (though inevitably, the odd updated version might slip in with unexpected/unnanounced changes) and suitability, when they get time, they will also put together video howtos for some of the less well-known but very useful, sometimes unique, software that they host.

Any problems or queries are, ime, rapidly dealt with via email (and social media recently), they also host a help forum (took me a few years to notice the link to that!) with an excellent Malware section, as well as more general hardware/software/mobile sections.

When setting up a new machine, it’s usually one of the first sites I visit.
