My W10 computers are currently running 1809 – should I update to any of the 2019 updates?

Woody has recommended Users move to Win10 v1909.
      V1809 reaches EOL on May 12, 2020.

      Well –

I went to SYSTEM and activated the ‘Windows Update’ and was told ‘Restart Required’; that the update was ready to install and just hit the ‘Restart Now’ button.  I did before I went to bed.  I woke up this morning and checked the version of software the system is running – 1809.

      What happened?

We can’t know unless you provide some logs.

Fire up Windows Update again and let us know what it reports.

        cheers, Paul

      What happened?

Evidently the Monthly CU installed and the version didn’t change or a Feature update failed. But it’s difficult to say what happened without any information.

Look in Windows Update under Update History and see if there’s any error message. What update was installed, a Feature upgrade or the Mar. monthly Security Cumulative update?

Then we need some information on your computer:
      + Hardware specs
+ Do you have Win10 Home or Pro?
+ Software you have installed. Of particular importance are Anti-virus programs(s) and third-party Windows Update blockers).
+ Pertinent settings in Windows (for example are metered connections on?)

I have made a screen grab of the Update History page if than can be posted.

W10 Home – was a upgrade from W8.1 that the Dell Inspiron 3847 came with.

In addition to Windows own protections, I have installed Malwarebytes and Spybot.  There is no metered connection – ethernet connection to Verizon DSL modem.

See if the post marked as an answer at Windows 10 Update Error 0x80070643 helps.

If it does not try the first post at Windows 10 Error 0x80070643.

I uninstalled Spybot and Malwarebytes and retried.

I was successful in getting 1909 installed.

      Thanks to all that responded.
