Really hate that the taskbar overflow requires you to pick every program in 11. All of a sudden today it reverted to nothing showing up and I had to re-enable everything again. Not sure why, as I didn’t do any updates or anything. Arrrgh I’m about ready to dump this and go Linux or God forbid, a MAC

Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it. |

This is not surprising. It’s Microsoft, after all !!

Microsoft is turning Windows 11’s Start Menu into an advertisement delivery system
The big search field on Windows 11’s taskbar is unnecessary
Move to a Mac with Windows in VM..

“big search field” = small search button
“Why then keep the Search field enabled? …
It is easy enough to remove search.” -

AskWoody_MVPNovember 21, 2022 at 6:51 am #2499933You’ve already switched off the Search button under Taskbar Settings.
That’s why ghacks said, “In other words: it does not matter if a user searches from Start or the Search field, the resulting page is identical. Why then keep the Search field enabled? … It is easy enough to remove search.”
