    Really hate that the taskbar overflow requires you to pick every program in 11. All of a sudden today it reverted to nothing showing up and I had to re-enable everything again. Not sure why, as I didn’t do any updates or anything. Arrrgh I’m about ready to dump this and go Linux or God forbid, a MAC

      In the past, in Win10, Microsoft has demonstrated that it can (and will) change things in the Taskbar, in the background, without going through Windows Update, without notice.

      This is not surprising. It’s Microsoft, after all !! 🙂

      Get a Mac, you’ll never go back!

        You’re probably right PK. Unfortunately, I need to run what my clients run so I know what’s up. Really weird because I have Windows stripped down pretty good. Wonder if I missed something, but no clue as to what!

            “This can be controlled by right-clicking on a website and choosing to remove that website individually or to stop showing all recommended websites entirely.” … “Users can hide all recommended items, …”

            “big search field” = small search button
            “Why then keep the Search field enabled? …
            It is easy enough to remove search.”

              Everything can be tweaked but how many home users out of the 150M know how to do this ?

            Am I missing something here?

            I click on the taskbar left blue box:

            start01

            and I get this display with a search:

            start02

            On permanent hiatus {with backup and coffee}

              You’ve already switched off the Search button under Taskbar Settings.

              That’s why ghacks said, “In other words: it does not matter if a user searches from Start or the Search field, the resulting page is identical. Why then keep the Search field enabled? … It is easy enough to remove search.”
