From Ed Bott, see What’s new in Windows 10 version 20H2 for his view of the next release.

NOTE: this is really a minor release.

      • Thank you Joep517 for the note that this is a minor release.

Reading the link text I think to have missed the purpose (why whatfore etc). It really makes for me just a new junction in a jungle of “upgrades”; I think to have lost track somehow.  Is there some kind of an functional overview of all these versions? Or is it just going on and on, being in a roulette?

“Windows 10’s October 2020 Update, also known as the 20H2 update, is coming soon. This update is focused on bug and performance fixes, but it has some larger changes—like the removal of the System Control Panel.”

Sorry to see the changes to the Control Panel, but I guess they want everything in the Settings App. Following links may be helpful.
