This has got to be a basic question and I have a feeling I’ll be smacking my head once one of you responds… I didn’t find anything in a search either…

I recorded a macro to shade cells in a table… Works great, but after a few days I’ve gone back into the document and forgot what keystroke combination I had assigned the macro… Where do I look to figure that out? Thanks
    have fun

Don’t know the Word answer, but for Excel 97, whenever I have recorded a maco and assigned a keyboard shortcut, the shortcut shows up in the comments section of the code.

In Excel, if you select Tools–>Macro–>Macros you’ll see the existing macros for that workbook. If you select a macro and then click on Options, you’ll see (and be able to change) the assigned shortcut.

doh. Thankyou. There wouldn’t be a way of accessing this through VBA that you know of, would there? Something like Application.UserDefinedShortcuts or similar? Not that it’s happened recently but I have come across some very ugly macro’s assigned to combinations like [ctrl]+C and a way of getting a headsup would be quite nice.

I don’t know. I rarely work in Word or Excel and the only time I assign keystrokes to macros is in Access and then only for my own use. shrug

In Word, click on the Tools menu and select Customize. You’ll see a keyboard button at the bottom of the Customize dialog. If you click that, you’ll get a Customize Keyboard dialog. There, you can select Macros from the Categories list and when you highlight the macro in question, you’ll see the shortcut you assigned in the Current Keys field.
