Have a machine that won’t boot after a power interrupt. I few flips of the power switch will get to the “blue screen” and the various options. “Restore” failed. “Repair at Startup” unsuccessful. “Reset” not tried because of immediate un-availability of all the product discs required to re-install the machine’s apps.

The machine history is Windows 7 Professional with free upgrade to Windows 10 Professional. The upgrade was done with the DVD media option. So, the question becomes how to repair Win 10. After the “Restore” failed, the machine booted to a normal appearance so it’s possible to retrieve the product key assigned when the upgrade was done.

What’s the recommended process in a case such as this?
