• Where do synchronized files go?

    Hello!

I’ve been playing around with IE 5.5 and Synchronize to make sure I’ve got backups of some sites I need to demo at an exhibition (contingency planning incase the live link fails!). Was also intending to cut a CD of the offline versions of the sites, but can’t find the files anywhere!?
    Any ideas where they are?

    Thanks,

    Ann

Have a look at this software:
      Aeria Leech

      As the blurb says:
Aeria Leech can download and save Websites for offline viewing from your hard drive. This fine utility includes a nice array of features and options that let you tailor the program to meet your needs. It’s easy to name a site and use a simple dialog box to enter an ID and password for the site, if necessary. Clear tabbed options let you restrict your download to a single directory and/or server, apply file type and size filters, restrict content by disk space and time, and set prior file erasure conditions and error options. Internet Explorer must be installed to enable an integrated browser window, where you can view downloaded sites as well as active Websites. Other features include organization folders for leeched sites, multithreading for quicker downloading, a self-explanatory dialog box that monitors download activity, background operation, and a strong help file.

      Hi Ann,

Not exactly sure where they go in IE v? but for example in win2k they are encrypted on hard drive so they are not accessible except through means other than ‘virtual drive letters’ or network places (neighborhood).

One like place would be in the temporary internet files. You can check this by synchronizing and then disconnecting from Internet/Intranet and then trying to browse site. Once you pull up the site you should be able to do a File–>Save As and it may show you the location that it came from.

Not for sure, but worth a shot

If you are looking for a software title that “strips” a site, you can try Webstripper. I have been using this for about 1 1/2 years but remember, while it is customizable, it may pull down alot more of a site than you want.

You can use BBCodes to format your content.
Your account can't use all available BBCodes, they will be stripped before saving.
