Subject edited by HansV since “Word 2007” didn’t give any idea about the question

What happened to the Send To>PowerPoint functionality in Word 2007? In former versions of Word/PowerPoint, I was able to create an outline in Outline View, send it to PowerPoint, and see the outline in properly constructed slides. Am I still able to do this?
    Thank you very much.

P.S. I am posting this on both the Word and PowerPoint forums since it applies to both programs. I hope this is OK.

It is not present on any of the ribbons by default in Word 2007, but is is still available.

      Click the big Office Button.
      Select Word Options.
      Activate the Customize tab.
Choose “Commands Not In The Ribbon” from the Categories dropdown on the left.
Locate “Send to Microsoft PowerPoint” in the list of Commands on the right.
Select it and click Add >> .
      OK your way out.

The “Send to Microsoft PowerPoint can now be found in the Quick Access Toolbar.

Thank you so much. Because of your quick help, I was able to teach the technique of going from Word To PowerPoint to a 10 year old girl who is using this in school. Incidentally, I did notice that from PowerPoint to Word, it’s in Publish and it specifically states that its use is to create handouts in Word.
        Thank you again.

One other question: It appears that when I send to PowerPoint, I can do this only with text. Pictures and charts do not get sent. Am I correct or is there something I do not realize?
        Thank you very much.

That’s how it has always worked. The purpose of Send To PowerPoint is to be able to create an outline in Outline view in Word where it is very easy to rearrange heading paragraphs, then to convert it to the skeleton of a presentation: the title and bullet points for the slides. You must flesh out this skeleton in PowerPoint itself.

Thank you, Hans. At least I know that there’s nothing I was missing.
