Why does Win 10 need Adobe Flash Player?

I’ve been wondering about this for awhile now and haven’t seen an answer.  If Flash Player is/has not really been necessary for some time and is also considered dangerous, why is it updated by MS for Win 10.  Is a Win 10 user allowed to uninstall Flash Player if they wish?

Being 20 something in the 70's was so much better than being 70 something in the insane 20's

You can’t uninstall Adobe Flash Player in Windows 10, but you can disable it.

Adobe Flash Player end of support is December 31, 2020.

Well, we are not supposed to remove it but majorgeeks seems to have a method, I’m sure there was a similar method on askwoody a few years back too. Disabling it is suffice for redundancy.

Windows - commercial by definition and now function...

Who has decided Flash is not necessary ? IE11 still needs Flash updates and so does classic Edge.
Until Flash dies at the end of the year it will be supported on all browsers.

I haven’t used IE 11 since around 2014 and switched to Firefox at that time because of the talk about IE 11 being more and more unsafe to use.  I have Flash Player disabled in IE 11 and I uninstalled it from Firefox last Oct. 2019 in my Linux machine.  I don’t miss it at all.
