The list of thread topics used to have the “New Reply” added to topics that had been READ, to indicate that a new reply had been added.

Lately, “New Reply” is added to all UNREAD topics that get a new reply, so it is not possible to tell if it has been read or not.

The same change happened about 8 to 10 days ago, but got reverted – until this week.

Is this a new design or just a bug?

Personally I prefer the old way, so I can easily skip topics in which I have no interest.

“Version 7.0.3 includes few fixes related to activity tracking. There will be few more tweaks in 7.0.4 related to same features too.”

It’s called software bugs.  Hang loose. A specific plug in that adds tons of features to the bbpress forum got a major update and like many new software items, we have to deal with a few bugs along the way.

I noticed the same thing, as I also relied on skipping those topics with the “UNREAD” label.

Now I look for “New Reply” added to those topics with purple links — those are the ones I’ve already read and are of interest. I’ll skip the bold blue links unless they are of interest.
