Greetings this time i have some questions regardong my wifi driver so i have a intel dual band wireless ac 1360 driver and lately in my house i have been having connection issues with my modem but sometimes my laptop too even when the modem is fine. My question is how to tell if my wifi driver is going bad? And also i have noticed that sometimes my wifi reset itself due to bad connection is this a normal behavior? Also how to tell if its my modem and not my laptop?

Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it. |

AskWoody MVPMay 17, 2020 at 7:55 am #2263251You need a wifi monitor app either on your phone (very handy) or in the PC. Check the signal status when you are having problems and you should be able to spot the issue.
InSSIDer is the standard, but is no longer free and has many competitors.
For the PC: Acrylic WiFi Home, WiFiInfoView, Homedale, etc.
Android phones: WiFi Analyzer, etc.
iphones: Fing, etc.cheers, Paul

AskWoody LoungerMay 17, 2020 at 9:48 am #2263267Thanks Mr.Paul I will start monitoring the issue
as a precaution I re-installed my Wi-fi driver and updated it to my lastest downloaded version (if not I will install its last version, as my Wi-fi driver in no longer supported)

AskWoody PlusMay 17, 2020 at 10:54 am #2263283May want to blow out any dust especially if the router has some age. I had one once that was mounted to a western wall. During evening hours the sun would warm the wall just enough that the router would drop out. Moving it off the wall solved the issue.

AskWoody LoungerMay 17, 2020 at 11:44 am #2263297That’s so illustrative I will try it out to see if that happens.
but to be honesto I don’t really care if my Modem is malfunctioning (I can talk to my phone company to replace it ) what I want to know is that my network card is working and it has nothing to do with my connection issues.
for now I am relieved that there are alos of things I want to discard before blaming my Network card.
