Hello all. This is my first post here. Ill try and make it short. I was on my android looking for my wifi home network to connect to my wifi. I realized other wifi networks with great connection bars and wondered how its possible because my own home wifi doesnt give me full strength connectivity. So i clicked on one wifi name and seen a drop down menu under the wifi name where i was able too see the networks ip adresss, dns server and gateway ip… so it got me thinking if this network is using my wifi somehow since I was able to see all that information without inputing passcode to that network. For access? Or can ayone see that information by clicking on a nearby network ?The ip was exactly as mine ( maybe one digiy off… same as gateway ip) … thx for the help

Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it. |

GuestAugust 15, 2024 at 3:38 pm #2696759I can’t be sure from the information provided, but it sounds as though you have an wi-fi router or cable internet/wi-fi router combination that was provided by your internet service provider or company, who may be using it, since it belongs to them, as a wi-fi hotspot for others in the area. My cable tv/internet provider does exactly that so that anyone within connection distance can stream tv programs on their smartphones via a wi-fi connection instead of a cell connection as they pass through the area. They simply use their online account password to sign in and the isp connects them to any wi-fi router within range that belongs to the isp company. My isp company, whose name I would prefer not to mention, does not charge a monthly rental fee for the cable modem/wi-fi router devices they provide customers precisely for this reason. They also will not provide upload and download data for the device, again likely for the same reason (because the customer is not the only one accessing the device).
