• Win XP and double screen icon (SP1)

Having just set up a connection to a new ISP, I’ve somehow managed to disable the double screen icon in the tray indicating a current connection to the Internet. I realise this will be fairly obvious, but can someone tell me how to recover it? I’ve already tried the simple expedient of just rebooting the computer to no avail.

On your start menu select ‘Network Connections’. If it is not on the start menu find it in Control Panel and open it. Right click on your connection. At the bottom make sure that ‘Show icon in notification area when connected’ is checked. That ought to do it.

Thanks a lot Joe, that of course was all that was needed. Having just moved house I must be too stressed to have noticed!

You’re welcome. Glad to help. A new house may be fun but moving sure is a strain.
